Why this trip

Not another Parvati Valley loop. A slow one.

Most Parvati Valley trips stop at Kasol's cafes and call it done. This one climbs higher — literally. Kalga sits above the valley floor with no road connecting it to the world; you reach it on foot, past apple orchards and pine, into a village that still moves at its own pace.

It's built for a small, invite-only tribe — a deliberate 50:50 ratio, one private Urbania for the whole journey door to door. No stitched-together itineraries, no crowd. Just a village, a forest trek to a shrine most travellers never hear of, and the space to actually slow down.

Overnight travel
Day 1 · Kalga

The village with no road in

Arrive Barshaini by morning and climb on foot into Kalga — a village with no road in, sitting at 2,200 metres in apple orchards and pine forest. Check in, freshen up, have breakfast.

Afternoon walk through the orchards and forest above the village, with the full Parvati Valley stretched out below.

Evening bonfire, opening tribe circle and dinner under a clear Parvati sky.

Day 2 · Kalga

Higher, to Rudranag

After breakfast, trek to Rudranag — an ancient Shiva shrine deep inside the forest above Kalga, reached via a trail through dense deodar and pine along a glacial stream. Almost entirely off the tourist circuit and one of the most rewarding treks in the Parvati Valley.

Return for a slow evening in the orchard. Final bonfire, closing tribe circle and dinner.

The Rudranag story

A shrine the map forgets.

Rudranag sits deep inside the forest above Kalga, reached along a trail that follows a glacial stream through dense deodar and pine. It isn't signposted from Kasol, and most travellers passing through the valley never hear its name.

This trip's Day 2 trek isn't a detour to a viewpoint — it's a full morning walk to an actual shrine still visited by locals, through one of the valley's quietest forests.

The river town

Kasol, an afternoon —
not a base.

One slow afternoon on the Parvati riverbank, market lanes, an Israeli bakery stop and time to just sit by the water before the drive back to Delhi. Small invite-only groups, no rushing between stops.
