A meadow held up
by deodar forest.
Shangarh sits at 2,400 metres in Kullu district, its open thatch meadow ringed by old-growth deodar — the kind of forest that takes centuries to grow and stays cool even in peak summer. Wooden Himachali houses line the village, and above them stands the Shangchul Mahadev temple, a site locals still hold sacred.
Day 1 and Day 2 are built around this village pace: a waterfall walk through the forest, an evening at the thatch meadow, and a trek to Ganjau Thatch where the Himalayan skyline opens up on every side — not staged photo stops, just the valley on its own terms.
